A quick note to express our gratitude for the care and attention you put into your work at our wedding yesterday. Neil and I both remarked how professional you were, and what a relaxing presence you have. Thank you for listening to us, and in so doing, understanding exactly what we were after in creating an un-fussy yet intimate atmosphere. I never felt like you were intrusive, and you blended in seamlessly with all our friends.

I always like, in an ideal world, to make a little time to meet up with couples ahead of the actual wedding, to spend a few moments over a coffee or a beer getting to know one another; just enough time to create a familiar bond. But, in our busy worlds, this isn’t always possible.

And so it was, on the afternoon of the 27th January I arrived at the Q Station in Manly to not only document Neil and Lizzy’s wedding but also to meet them both for the first time.

And I have to say that within those first few moments of meeting both Neil, and then Lizzy (whom I met for the first time as she was about to take her first steps with her dad towards the ceremony), I knew the day ahead was going to be one of those days where things just seamlessly evolve, moments ebb and flow perfectly and the day itself passes in an utterly brilliant blink of an eye.

Thank you for having me there to capture your story Lizzy and Neil, for making this ‘stranger’ feel most welcome on your wedding day and for taking ‘just going with the flow’ to a whole new level…
