I just wanted to write and say a massive thank you for the job you did on Saturday. Your relaxed, easy going nature suited us perfectly, and we felt completely comfortable all day and night.

I have to say, in the days leading up to the 7th March, I had a very good feeling about this wedding.

For starters I was back at one of my favorite wedding location on Sydney’s northern beaches, invited by Nicole and Mick to simply hangout with their family and friends and witness them getting hitched down on the old wharf at the Manly Q Station.

I also felt good, as I knew having shot with Nicole and Mick during their pre-wedding engagement session at the end of last year, their wedding wasn’t to become an elaborate photo-shoot. Instead their wedding was to be about them making their commitment to each other in front of all their family and friends. It was a day they wanted to enjoy to the full, without any unnecessary distraction. I really felt my role was to simply be there, take part, get involved in a hands-off way and bear witness to all their moments as they naturally unfolded.

Now that sounds like documentary wedding photography to me!

A great venue and location, a stress free couple, a license to roam and document, all under a perfect summers sky – yeah I had a good feeling about this wedding.

And do you know what? I think between us all, we did a pretty good job.

These were the very kind words I received in an email from Nicole the morning after the wedding:

I just wanted to write and say a massive thank you for the job you did on Saturday. Our bridal party, and many of our guests, said really lovely things about you. Your relaxed, easy going nature suited Mick and I perfectly, and we felt completely comfortable all day and night. Again, we appreciate everything you did for us, and will gladly recommend you to all of our Sydney family and friends.
